The Red Coat

Following my recent wishlist with some of my favourite picks from the Stylistpick I thought I would show you how I would style up 3 of my top picks.  This red coat and chunky boot combo being the first one - the coat was not as thick as I imagined, more like a heavy weight, long line blazer.  There are no buttons and it fits quite snugly but the length and colour are perfect, I would possibly go a size bigger than you normally are for a better fit.  I love the boots, they are so comfy and I know already I will wear them with everything.

This lost the plot graffiti had to have a little feature on the blog, very apt to me as some days I can honestly swear I really have lost the bloody plot!

What do you think of the red coat, how would you style a statement coat?

Wednesday Wants

This week I am working with Stylistpick to show you my favourite pieces from their website. They recently sent me this checked cardigan and since then I have been adding lots more of their items to my wishlist (which is getting out of control by the way).
It all started with a gorgeous red wool coat, I loved it as soon as I saw it and wanted to show you all what I would style it with.
Keeping it classic with shapes and colours, no prints, only staples as I am still building my capsule wardrobe, what do you think of my selection?

Grey Days

Right kids, I have got another charity shop extravaganza to show you all and it comes in the form of this grey wrap round jacket.  I feel like I was born to be a thrift shopper, I swear the bargains hunt me out because this was a complete steal at £15.
The length, belt detail and colour could not be more now, it always gives me such a buzz to be on trend at a fraction of the price.

This weekend has bought my first Liberty experience, I have always wanted to visit this famous department store and it certainly did not disappoint.  I ooohhh'ed and ahhhh'ed at some of the unique jewellery pieces and niche make up brands, some of which I have never heard of before.  I spritzed away in the perfume floor spraying fragrances that I have definitely not seen in the likes of boots, my new grey coat now smells completely divine with a luxurious mixture of citrus and patchouli. I bought a couple of special presents for some friends and family and can say that I am now officially in the festive spirit after visiting their Christmas shop.
I can safely say that Liberty is definitely my new favourite store.

Monday Musings

A suit, yes I want a suit.
I have wanted the perfectly tailored suit for quite some time now but the right event or trouser & blazer combo hasn't cropped up yet. Pinterest gives me plenty of inspo for the outfit I am after so thought I would share my finds with you.

Checked Cardigan

When I choose this cardigan from the lovely guys over at Stylistpick I thought it was black and white, when it arrived I realised the squares were in fact brown which in the end I actually preferred.  I am a big monochrome fan so it was a nice change to add a new colour mix to the wardrobe.  The best bit about this cardigan is the pockets, I do love a pocket.  I can see myself wearing this again with a crisp white shirt, boyfriend jeans and trainers - slouching around town with my hands in my pockets.

Tonight I am off out for 2 of my housemates birthdays so I can already guarantee tomorrow is going to be a write off, the only trip to be made will be a struggle walk to Macdonalds.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

A Classic Black Coat

Do you guys remember the good news about my recent purchase of the perfect black jacket?  No, well you can have a little read about it here if you like.

I am still over the moon about this find and it's all thanks to the Notting Hill Fara Charity Shop.  I'll be back to to for rummage soon, I am hoping another Zara beauty will be there waiting for me.

Work is nearly done for another week, I for one could not be happier that its Friday tomorrow.  A busy week at work gives me an excuse to enjoy a few drinks Saturday.
The main conversation in my house tonight is 'what are you wearing' and 'who wants G&T's' or 'who fancies wine'?

Seriously important and incredibly vital questions for Thursday night, I of course am thinking G&T AND Wine.

Enjoy your Friday guys!

Wednesday Wants

Everywhere I look I am seeing see scarfs.  Oversized scarfs, Tartan scarfs, fur stoles, cape style scarfs and Mongolian snoods.  I literally cannot get enough of scarfs.
God love Winter for letting us style a plain outfit with a fabulous scarf, whether it be a bold colour or interesting pattern its a great accessory.

Another must have on the never ending wish list...

A white shirt

Well hello Miss High street - today I rocked head to toe high street fash thanks to River Island and Miss Selfridge.  Normally I am sporting a vintage or thrifted number mixed with my favourite high street stores but at the moment there's so many things I am loving my vintage shirts have taken a back seat.

The staple wardrobe buying is going well as yesterday I invested in a white shirt, how did I not own a white shirt?  And here it is in all it's glory smartening up my ripped jeans...

Beanies Back

The beanie is back, dun dun daaaaa and I am not sure I am so keen this year.  I am more feeling the bobble hat, especially after I saw some fabulous ones in Stylist Magazine yesterday – black bobble hat here I come.
Adding a hat changes a whole look of an outfit, beanies add an edge and a fedora adds some class – that kind of thing, you know?  Well clearly this outfit was needing an edge, overall rather a simple look except for my fabulous panelled Topshop jeans.  The back is a light wash denim and the front is leather – 2 of my favourite things in one pair of trousers, god Topshop you genius.

The wedged heels add a bit of height and the black tee keeps the outfit understated.
The open toed heels are actually off to be packed away now as its full blown Winter here in London.  This means the hunt shall begin for a pair of Winter ‘going out shoes’ – warm party shoes, are these possible?  Maybe a shoe boot, a cool shoe boot – any suggestions guys?

My Aquascutum baby

It's time to bring out my all time top charity shop bargain, THE AQUASCUTUM COAT.  I had a little natter about it HERE back in February and still have the same never ending love for it.  I mean, I feel fresh out of Pinterest when I wear it and it can make an all black outfit look so much more special.  God love a good quality camel coat.

There are plenty out there for all budgets, Missguided have a gorgeous cocoon shaped one which looks pretty luxurious for £40 and for a higher budget I am in love with this Hobbs belted number -  a timeless classic.

This weather is so up and down at the moment a camel coat is a great transitional piece and also a buy now wear forever wardrobe staple, so moral of this post is...getting investing kids.

Rollnecks and Pleats

I am finding my Monday Musing posts an excellent source of outfit inspiration for the coming week, looking at styling posts and street style shots on Pinterest is always a great way to inject some freshness into my wardrobe.
I find myself browsing Tumblr and Pinterest searching for new ways to re-vamp my existing outfits, when I feel like I don't have anything to wear this is a great way to get the styling juices flowing again.

I am still obsessing over midi skirts so I styled this pleated number with a fitted roll neck for a really easy work outfit.  My flat Chelsea boots added a comfortable, chilled vibe and the gold cuff gave the jumper some interesting detail.

Do you guys like the way I have styled my roll neck?  How do you guys style skirts and jumpers?

Monday Musings

As the temperatures are starting to drop my thoughts are turning to jumpers, lovely thick, cosy, oversized jumpers.  My wardrobe is crying out for a jumper update so I thought this week I would peruse pinterest and get some winter jumper inspiration...
