Turb Life

Hello Hello lovely people, how was all your weekends?  Filled with good times, good food and good people I hope?  I haven't done much this weekend as I am still on the mend from the dreaded ear infection that I have been banging on about this last week (soz I always kick the arse of out being ill and making sure everyone knows!)

I did bravely venture out with my girls yesterday all the way up town to Chelsea where we gossiped over brunch at the Bluebird, enjoyed tea and cake at Muriels Kitchen and snapped blog pics next to a lovely set of coloured houses.  The turban was a highlight of the day covering a multitude of sins, mainly greasy hair and protecting my cotton wall stuffed sore ear and I spent most the day saying 'huh' and 'whats that', sorry girls!

My look yesterday saw me wearing a mostly head to toe thrifted outfit - I found the Zara leather jacket hanging practically brand new in a London charity shop for £17 and although I have a leather jacket I obvs had to have this one.  Zara coat, brand new, £17, errrrrr YES!!

The jeans were £1 from a Dalston chazza shop and the black shirt was another coupla quid barg from a chazza shop back in Southampton.

What do you think, are you a turb lover and a keen bargain hunter like me?

OOTD: Clarks Shoes

Hello my loves hope your all OK and not in the wars like me as currently I am nursing an Ear Infection, the last dregs of Tonsillitis and some sort of burst Ear drum which has left me with major Tinnitus.  I have been off work for 2 days so although I would love to say I am enjoying being a couch potato I can assure you I am not, I am in pain and bored.  The dose of antibiotics means I've had to cancel my night out tomorrow and as you can imagine for a booze hound like myself that is complete devastation.

Not all is lost though as I am still going to venture out for brunch tomorrow with some of my gorgeous girls so that will no doubt cheer me up, apart from that outing, this weekend spells films, bed rest and plenty of time to catch up on my fave blog reads.  So whilst sitting on the sofa, wearing a beanie indoors and going stir crazy at the whirring sound in my left ear I realised that hey I gotta overdue post I need to sort (thank you blogging for the much appreciated distraction)...

This outfit was shot a little before LFW as the lovely folks over at Clarks sent me these black smart shoes which I can honestly say are THEEE most comfortable shoes I have ever owned.  They have this genius built in cushion for the sole of the foot which eliminates ever saying 'my feet hurt' on a night out. Trust.

I have worn them a couple of times now, this outfit being the first and I love the fact that I now own that more sophisticated go to shoe as my wardrobe is full of chunky boots and trainers these days!

#OOTD - London Fashion Week

Ahhh fashion week, what a way to make you hate your entire wardrobe, feel a bit chunks and generally hate life. I dealt with that by eating Pizza, drinking prosecco and hanging out with the coolest and most loveliest blogging babes.

My weekend was spent with the legends that are CarmenMeganLolliLindseyLaura and Leigh all top girls, top bloggers and top drinking partners so I was in excellent company.

Friday night we headed over to most stunning apartment at the very luxurious ME Hotel where we enjoyed free prosecco thanks to UGG UK.  I can safely say they were the most amazing hosts with the most amazing soft furnishings, I could have quite easily curled up on the sofa underneath the mountain of blankets and forgotten all about LFW!
After drinking the bar dry and getting kicked out (lads) we headed off to Wagamama where we bought another bottle of Proseco (standard) and scoffed Katsu Curry like we have never seen food before.  It was also the night which marked a momentous occasion as I tried Calamari, a day I never thought I would see, I was actually pleasantly surprised!

Saturday went a bit like this - in the morning I went over to Fashion Scout and watched the Youjia Jin show, grabbed a pret, mooched around Somerset House, took some blog photos, watched the Danielle Romeril presentation then hit up the UGG Sanctuary and drank more proseco before heading out to Covent Garden where we ate pizza from Homeslice and drunk, yes you got it, more proseco.

Basically, Best Weekend Ever.

LFW: Smythson Iconic Clutch

LFW has arrived!!! Sadly I am still manning my desk at work as couldn’t get the time off but don’t worry as soon as 5pm hits I’ll be making my way from East to West to meet some of my faves for cocks, chats and LFW goss.

Anyhoo, to feel part of fashion weeks first day I have put together some outfit inspo for a suitable FROW look as I was recently contacted by Smythson to show how I would style up their iconic large pouch from their Maddox Collection (obvs not for me, way not cool enough to ever be FROW but it’s a laugh to imagine right!).

It’s clear to see why this is called ‘Iconic’ as this statement clutch is a stylish mixture of contrasting shades - the white, grey and green and all make for one eye catching bag. I wanted the pouch to be the stand out piece of the outfit so decided on a palette of whites and greys to compliment it and make the green in the bag pop.  LFW is pretty tiring and heels, although they complete most outfits can be painful!  I thought a sleek pair of all white Nike Roshe Runs were a much more cobble and show dashing appropriate.

What do you think to my grey, minimalistic look? What are you guys wearing to LFW, I’d love to know! For tomorrow I am currently looking at vintage denim, slogan tee's, fringing leather and leopard print - think London cool, 70's tassels and 90's throwback!
Hmmm sounds like a recipe for disaster at the moment doesn't it!

Black & White for life

Monochrome seems to be ruling my styling senses at the moment, every outfit I'm donning is made up of the trusted black & white palette.  I love bright colour, patterns and prints so hopefully when the sun starts to make more of an appearance maybe my love for colour will resurface!

Moving on to the heavily monochrome outfit in question... this dress is probably one of my most treasured bargains, found in the M&S January sales by my mum (a fellow bargain hunter) it was reduced from £59 down to £11, say whaaaaat.

This dress has previously taken me from office to after-hours in style as it has the smart work wear vibe but can easily be rocked for drinks in the evening, however this time I was wearing it to a lunch with some of the fam when I was visiting home last weekend so I whacked the Superstars out for a more chilled approach!

What do you think of this M&S bargain and the monochrome rut I am finding myself in?

Stripe Flares

My stripe and new found flare love continues.
I bagged a bargain on EBay with these monochrome, stripe, wide leg trousers and I absolutely love them especially as they only cost me £5 - god love the sellers of EBay!  I wore them high waisted which meant they were a perfect length with flats and kept the rest of the outfit simple with all black as they were quite the eye catching trouser!

I am finding it hard to put a paragraph together tonight as the last 3 days I have been working at Pure London so my brain is frazzled and my feet are sore!  I am in bed enjoying The Secret lives of 4 year olds which is just adorable, easy watching and making me giggle!  I'll be back next time with a more chatty post but right now it's Night, Night from me.

Ghost London

Ghost London, a brand I thought would only be the go to site for that extra special occasion dress, a glamorous event piece or even along the lines of bridesmaids.  Turns out I was wrong.
They actually have a gorgeous selection of coats, blouses and trousers, in fact this beautiful Oxblood Red crepe trouser and vest combo is the perfect example of what else they can do.  I was recently contacted by them and asked to style up a look from their site and this set caught my eye, I am not sure if they were designed with the idea to be worn together but actually I quite like it, I thought it was more me so here we go, head to toe red and a flash of monochrome checks were the look of this weekend!

Talking about red, I have excellent news, I ordered my first glass of red wine down the pub yesterday and oh how I enjoyed it.  After a cold picture taking sesh me and my housemate settled in the pub with a bag of crisps and some wine, how warming is red wine, who knew, self confessed red wine convert over here. Hollaaaaaa.

#TSOPxBHF

I was recently contacted by the fabulous blogging duo twoshoesonepair to join in and help raise awareness with the Wearitbeatit campaign, so here I am rocking my little red dress in support of the amazing British Heart Foundation.

Show your support and donate anything you can to Amy's just giving page HERE, this is an amazing charity that has been fighting against heart disease for more than 50 years and also a cause very close to twoshoesonepair hearts.

As an avid charity shopper at The British Heart Foundation I am so happy to see that the money I spend there is used to make a difference to peoples lives.
You can to, so go ahead and give what you can...
